9 Tips for Better Burgers

Follow these tips this grilling season to prepare delicious burgers! Switch it up and be creative with toppings, too.

Tip #1: Use ground beef chuck (80/20) for juicier, flavorful burgers. 80% lean / 20% fat.
Tip #2: Shape into ¾-inch thick patties.
Tip #3: Grill over ash-covered coals or preheated gas grill on medium heat. Warning: Grilling at high temperatures = burnt outside, uncooked inside
Tip #4: Cook burgers to medium (160°F) doneness– about 11 to 13 minutes.
Tip #5: Turn once and never flatten the patty!
Tip #6: For cheeseburgers, add during the last minute.
Tip #7: Change it up with different cheeses! Try brie, cheddar, smoked gouda, muenster, or blue cheese.
Tip #8: Get creative with flavor! Try wasabi & chutneys, mustards & mayonnaises, or salsas & hot sauces.
Tip #9: Make it unique with unexpected toppings. Try grilled bell peppers, grilled onions, avocado, hummus, refried beans, pickled vegetables or kimchi, spinach or baby arugula.
